Visit the monasteries of Andros and experience the spirituality and mystical atmosphere. Meet the local monks and hear interesting stories of the past!
After meeting with the guide at the starting point, we then board into the Mercedes Minivan and head to the village of Apoikia, making our first stop at the Monastery of Agia Irini which is located in an impressive location with panoramic views of Chora and the Aegean Sea. In the monastery, apart from the religious church, exhibition spaces have been created for the history and experiences of some of the captains of the island with great interest. After our visit at this lovely monastery we head to the village of Vourkoti, where the monastery of Agios Nikolaos is located.

We start from Andros town, Chora, and passing through the verdant village of Apoikia, we reach Agios Nikolaos (Saint Nickolas) monastery. This impressively built monastery was founded in the 11th century. From the yard you can enjoy beautiful views to Achla beach.
Next stop is Agia Eirini (Saint Irene) monastery, just outside Apoikia village. Except for its’ beautiful church, the monastery houses four small museums with interesting exhibits.
After our walk, we visit the recently renovated monastery of Agia Marina (Saint Marina). The miraculous icon of Agia Marina, dated to 14thcentury, is kept in the church.
Our last visit will be in Panachrantos monastery. Dedicated to Virgin Mary, also known as Agios (Saint) Panteleimonas, as in the church is kept the holy relic of the saint. One of the oldest monasteries in Andros, known for the hospitality of the monks, also provides breathtaking views to Andros town.
